He will find it a lot harder than Ferguson to keep them competitive though. Title race really is more open next season.

We really need a good start.
He'll have Fergie's ear whenever he wants.

Fergie will influence the league and United until the day he dies.

I'm not popping the champagne cork just yet.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

I hope he's having both done, then it would literally be a case of Hip Hip Hooray.

The phrase 'no quick fix' keeps being mentioned.

I am not sure the shareholders will see it the same way.

one bad thing about fergie retiring is we are now going to have to put up with the media-love in until the summer.

i'll be avoiding sky sports, papers and motd till next season

Given that they have had a decade since his aborted retirement to plan this succession, it's a bit crap that they don't have anyone schooled in Fergie's arts to promote from within. I guess Moyes has been on an apprenticeship at Everton in that same period though!

Apparently the new manager is cut from the same cloth as Ferguson, and believes in youth development.

Does Moyes believe in youth development?
