This will give the Bitters another twisted excuse to cement Man Utd as their 2nd club too.

Definitely.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostPeople talking about Ferguson's hanging around ensuring a smooth transition etc - surely he will essentially still be manager? It's the whole Houllier/Evans thing - while they won't be "joint managers" per se, his presence there will surely cause problems.

Not sure how much he'll be there in reality. I think the comments are by people who just can't accept he is retiring, that he'll always be around. It's like breaking up with your bird but saying 'we'll still be mates and keep in touch'. He's going to be a Director and an Ambassador. Suspect you'll see him more on game days

Yeah, you read about Paisley struggling with Shanks always being around at first as the players still treated him like the boss.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostPeople talking about Ferguson's hanging around ensuring a smooth transition etc - surely he will essentially still be manager? Him hanging around for me is a mistake - go for a couple of years and then come back and take that sort of role

My word!
Did football just get interesting again for anyone else?
If Rodgers can duplicate his mid season purchasing success then we have to be in for a great shout for a top 4 place.
I hate to tempt fate but surely a new manager for Utd means a drop in motivation, tactics and ultimately results. Players are ageing, some are leaving and would Ronaldo want to play for Moyes? haha no.
Chelsea and City to compete for the title next season and we just have to have a tilt at a top 4.Last edited by Fosterbloke; 08-05-13, 01:03 PM.Was muß, das muß.
