This will give the Bitters another twisted excuse to cement Man Utd as their 2nd club too.

Not sure how much he'll be there in reality. I think the comments are by people who just can't accept he is retiring, that he'll always be around. It's like breaking up with your bird but saying 'we'll still be mates and keep in touch'. He's going to be a Director and an Ambassador. Suspect you'll see him more on game days

Yeah, you read about Paisley struggling with Shanks always being around at first as the players still treated him like the boss.

Him hanging around for me is a mistake - go for a couple of years and then come back and take that sort of role

            My word!

Did football just get interesting again for anyone else?

If Rodgers can duplicate his mid season purchasing success then we have to be in for a great shout for a top 4 place.

I hate to tempt fate but surely a new manager for Utd means a drop in motivation, tactics and ultimately results. Players are ageing, some are leaving and would Ronaldo want to play for Moyes? haha no.

Chelsea and City to compete for the title next season and we just have to have a tilt at a top 4.

He'll have to hang around in some capacity to ensure they receive their obligatory 12 points for absolute bull**** each season.
                3rd place. Worst champions ever.

I won't be surprised if he would try to be the President of UEFA or maybe even FIFA.

Something is very strange with all of this. Very strange timing.

Ben Smith ‏@BenSmithBBC 3m David Gill to MUTV. Ferguson's successor must have "requisite football experience in terms of domestic & European experience."
Isn't Moyes out of the running then?
