Football-crazy shoppers flock to the LFC store in Chester.

    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Soooo, we finally find out Neil's occupation, a store detective.

              Bid for Baines apparently.

Manchester United have made a bid for Leighton Baines as David Moyes looks to reunite with the Everton and England left back at Old Trafford.

Baines said this week that he was looking forward to working under Roberto Martinez, Moyes’s successor as Everton manager, but United’s approach is certain to turn his head.

It was unclear this afternoon exactly how much United have offered but the bid is thought to be in the region of £10 million to £12 million, with Baines about to enter the final two years of his contract at Goodison Park.

Everton have rejected an official bid from Manchester United for left-back Leighton Baines, according to Sky sources.

Baines has been linked with a move to Old Trafford since the end of last season and David Moyes' switch from Goodison Park to replace Sir Alex Ferguson.

But Everton are determined to hold on to the England international as new manager Roberto Martinez shapes his squad for next season.

Martinez hinted two weeks ago he is keen to reward Baines, who has two years left to run on his current deal, with a new contract and the player himself said this week he is looking forward to working under the former Wigan boss.

"He has a different style to what we have been used to but I think it is progressive and it will move us forward," said the 28-year-old.

"It is also exciting for the players to be able to try that now."

We should be all over him at that price.

2 years on a contract. Everton will have to sell him. They can not afford to let a player of his value walk. And in 12 months time they will be lucky to get half of that.

Lol, what would be the point? Incredibly unlikely to even consider switching blue for (our) red, even if we were the only club in the market for him. Instead the champions are, who can offer him CL footy and the chance to win things right now, plus there's Gollum to factor in. Bidding for him would just be a total waste of our time and effort.
