Manchester United boss David Moyes says his team do not have sufficient class to win the Champions League this season.

United have lost three of their opening six games in the Barclays Premier League under Moyes, with the latest setback coming in a 2-1 home defeat to West Brom at Old Trafford on Saturday.

The Premier League champions were unsuccessful in their pursuit of a number of summer transfer targets, with interest in Cesc Fabregas, Leighton Baines and, finally, Ander Herrera all coming to nothing, and Moyes is concerned that his squad may lack the quality to challenge for Europe's top club prize.

"To win the Champions League, you need five or six world-class players," he told several national newspapers.

"Look at Bayern Munich, they have it. Look at Barcelona, who had it in the past and Real Madrid, who have maybe got it now. That's the level you have to be at to win it. We've not got that yet but what we have got is experience."

        This is absolutely amazing.

Went down the pub last night...a good few United ST holders in there. They're all **** scared but not one of them wants Moyes out. They want to give him plenty of time

When I was watching their game yesterday I remembered something. Was it 2008 or 09 when they bought Nani and Anderson for something like 30 or 40 milions and a lot of our fans were going suicidal. Great stuff!

Hopefully they will have as much luck with their next few transfers and will need few(hundred) years to recover.

They're so so similar, dire football, snap at anyone who questions them and a non stop playing down of expectations. "We cant win this", "it'll get worse before it gets better"

Was hoping for a more long term failure but it looks like he's gone straight in and immediately wrecked them, that will still do nicely.

The comparisons to Hodgson are just undeniable now. He's a completely clueless **** who'll likely end up managing someone like Fulham or Sunderland next

Mancs already out to 7/1 for the league title now!

                    Pure Hodgson.

Got a job way beyond his level because he got an average team punching slightly above their weight - just like Hodgson and Fulham. It's such a different thing to go from a club where losses are accepted and pinching wins here and there is the norm, to a club where you're expected to be on the front foot all the time and win 60% of your games. A totally different mindset and approach.

And as Chris says, his football is similar (if not the same) - cautious and outdated, he lowers expectations, and snaps when anyone criticises him.

It's too good to be true

All this "give him time" stuff is BS IMO. If there's a turd in the bowl, you don't leave it there and hope things will get better. You flush it. Hanging on to Hodgson until January did us no favours. They'd be better sacking him now and getting someone good, someone who knows what they're doing - but they won't! Hooray!

As hilarious as all this is, I hope he starts getting some results soon so they don't sack him. Win two, lose 1, win another 2, 2 draws etc. Or a decent run in the champions league and the league cup to make it look like he might be capable if given time.

As much as they insist they'll give him time if he keeps going as he is they will have no choice but to end his reign.

If i say so myself.. I've been quite succesful in convincing a few mancs that are in the undecided camp, that Moyes is indeed the anti Christ; and how in combination with the Glazers will lead them into the football wilderness for years and years.

It's quite fun really, and is sooo much easier when you have their ****e results to back it up, and the huge loss of Ferguson adding to their nervousness.

After all that, the prick says he'd have been fine with it and seen the funny side had they only sent him to leeds or manchester!

Not a mention of the humiliation to his wife.

They haven't scored a goal from open play since the first game of the season. That tells you everything you need to know about Jurassic Moyes style of play
