Vidic's Old Trafford exit looking more likely after agent rules out contract extension

Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic looks set to leave Old Trafford this summer after his agent said he is unlikely to sign a new contract.

Vidic’s four-year deal runs out at the end of the season and talks over a new one have stalled, with Italian clubs Inter Milan, Fiorentina and Napoli monitoring the situation.
His agent Silvano Martina said: ‘At the moment, I would rule out an extension with Manchester United ‘Vidic, given his contract situation, has several teams looking at him.

‘Vidic is a very good player and will have no trouble finding a new club. For the time being we are remaining calm. At the moment there has been no contact (with Napoli) but they are one of the best clubs in Europe.’
United’s policy is to offer players over the age of 30 only a one-year deal, like the one signed by Michael Carrick in November.
At 32, Vidic falls into that category too but he is understood to want a longer contract.
However, there are concerns at Old Trafford over the knee injuries that have kept the combative Serb out of action for long periods in recent seasons and Porto’s Eliaquim Mangala is one of the possible replacements being lined up by United.

Vidic’s centre back partner Rio Ferdinand also faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford as he waits to see if the club will offer him a new deal.
Ferdinand made only his 13th appearance of the season in Sunday’s FA Cup defeat by Swansea and he limped off with a knee injury, although the 35-year-old former England defender is believed to have suffered only light swelling, which should not keep him out for more than two weeks.

I watched the game in the pub and towards the end Moyes was chunnering to himself. He's really ****ed. I have no sympathy for the bitter *******. I know it proves nothing, but it really does seem that Ferguson did have something over the FA and the referees. Their luck is evening out now although they had far too much luck and far too many decisions to ever really even things out. Recently they've been absolute ****e, last season was a piss-take.

What was the point of him retiring. He's at every game. Go on holiday. Play golf. Spend time with your family. Or friends Busy c*nt #fergie

My Manc mates have ballooned again on Facebook. One of them asked "Tell me Utd fans, what good or good things has Moyes brought to the club?"

My response. "His daughter, Wilfried Zaha seemed to enjoy that" It didn't go down well. Poor lot have flipped their lids. Moyes has lost the plot, the players are either cack or don't want to play for him and they will spunk money up a wall on players to paper the cracks. The only thing saving them is the fact they get near a full house at home games and that revenue keeps them rolling along. Without that they'd be screwed

And the media. He played politics with football - making sure he had a big influence (control!) over every aspect of the game. The only thing he couldn't control was Europe - hence Fergie's relative failure in Europe.

Re: the media - they are still **** scared of upsetting Fergie. If any other team was playing as poorly as Utd (from dominating the Prem to mid table within six months), the written and TV press (especially Sky) would be going nuts. Think of the **** Rafa had at Liverpool and Chelsea
                  Another MASSIVE game

Loads of em are turning on Cleverley now.

I've seen several people with "MUFC" in their twitter saying its a disgrace if he goes to the World Cup over Hendo.

Its actually becoming a bit boring now - Utd fans are so far out of their depth with the current results they do not know how to react. And the fact they are getting it from all sides makes it even worse for them.

                            Long may it continue.

You have to wonder why Moyes was the chosen one for them. Truly strange

Heres hoping they do win the odd game so they stick with him and establish themselves as the 7th best team in the division

It's a toss up between Newcastle and Man United.
