But when it happens at LFC (see current crop of back ups), it's often attributed to bad management. I honestly don't think our success rate is far removed from the average.

it's because for us, every single penny counts - United/City/Chelsea and to an extent spurs and arsenal all seem to be 'allowed' to purchase a player for £10m+ and if they don't work out no one bats an eyelid

if we purchase any above £10m and they don't make an immediate impact, the press are all over it and then the fans

I'm not sure we're treated that differently by the press.

The difference comes where if you buy dross and still win trophies. The level of scrutiny would of course take up a higher proportion of any coverage if you don't qualify for the CL.

I remember quite a big deal being made about Vernon at United, and Torres at Chelsea.
      Oh I don't know.

how did Mata play? is MUFC showing signs of improvement? now when RVP is back and Mata in their team, they will regain confidence that's for sure.

United are now officially safe from relegation.

Ah well, there's always next year.

Cardiff were always going to bend over against them considering who their manager is.
