why? Although I dont think I could cope with a Scum win, I would then start not jsut believing we can win the title, I would start really believing and not sure my ticker could cope with that.

Draw. Helps us, and still gives United a sense of achievement so they'll stick with Moyes and without us having to listen to the ******s crowing about being back for the 15th time this season.

City will drop more points after tonight.

I'll take back to back losses for Citeh this week and not give a toss about Man Utd till August.

Haha, as Derek McGovern put it, ‘I’d have rated Rooney’s lob more highly had West Ham keeper Adrian not given his best impression of a man chasing a balloon that’s just been burst’
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Per Sturridge, watching that back again, it really is astounding. Running at an angle, ball comes over his shoulder, he can't have had much more than a quick look and then lobs it perfectly with his wrong foot. (Think he's right footed, no?)

That is a truly astounding goal. Did it even get goal of the month on MOTD?
                  He's left footed.

Manchester United to offer essential Phil Jones new contract

                      • Centre-back viewed as vital to David Moyes's rebuilding
                      • Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand set to leave United

Manchester United are to offer Phil Jones a new contract, with the defender's five-year deal having two years left this summer.

While United are yet to begin discussions with the 22-year-old there is no expectation of any particular stumbling blocks to Jones committing his future to the club.

Jones is viewed as essential to David Moyes's rebuilding project as the automatic choice at centre-back over the coming seasons. Nemanja Vidic will definitely leave this summer, Rio Ferdinand may follow and Chris Smalling has been disciplined by the manager this week for a late-night indiscretion.

Jones's ability to step into midfield to play an anchoring role is a further plus. Moyes has said that he sees "Jones settling in at centre-back and, in time, he will become a very good centre-back but I think, right now, he is a very good defensive midfield player which we might need in some games".

Jones signed in June 2011 in a £17m transfer from Blackburn Rovers and described joining United as a "once in a lifetime opportunity". Sir Alex Ferguson, had spotted his potential despite Jones having made his Premier League debut only that spring.

jones though - i don't think he's as bad as we make out on here...

i think - similar to how many people reacted to us signing henderson....look at the fee and the ridiculous comments about him being the new baresi or whatever and take the piss....

whilst he isn't a super star - he's still young, hes strong, quick and committed and will only get better.

I think he's an absolute headless chicken who thinks being good at his role is all about piling into people at 100mph. He invariably injures himself with his last ditch lunges. No positional sense or awareness and frequently loses his man. He's ****e.
