We don't know but we can guess, it's not easy taking over a team like that for your first job, he has no managerial experience, they need a lot of rebuilding too and he had a **** record in the 4 games he was in charge. Not everyone can be a Guardiola but they seem to think he is. Pep at least had a year in charge of the B team and you could see his ideas and he had success with them. Giggs can motivate British players because of who he is but that won't impress foreign stars. Him getting it would be great.

Am I missing something but didn't Giggs bring in most of the class of '92 for the last 3 games of the season? Giggs himself was a player coach under Moyes (and possibly before), and Phil Neville came in with Moyes, but Scholes and Butt were only appointed in April weren't they? So it's hardly like they have been involved with the coaching side of things for a long time, I don't see why they even brought Scholes and Butt in for 3 games. Yes they have been associated with the club (as players) for a long time but they weren't in a hurry to appoint them to coaching roles when they retired or when Moyes came in.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Wayne Rooney, 28, has described the English media as "disgusting" for being in Portugal to report on the England striker while he is on holiday with his family.

Really has Rooney only just realised this

What a muppet, they use the media to add to their fortune when they feel like it, and once you do that, your life becomes theirs. Thats how it goes.

Wouldn't mind seeing the look on Rooney's face when Van Gaal appoints Van Persie club captain.

                        That remains to be seen.

Be surprised if he sees out his contract. More than likely leave the season after next winning a cup competition in the process but leaving behind a fractured squad and some very expensive transfer 'flops'

Feels like they were holding out for someone better, and when no one was available they gave it to him. Fall back option. Hardly a long term appointment when he's already in his mid 60s.
