Speaking at the launch of his autobiography The Second Half, Keane said he isn't sure if their relationship can ever be repaired when asked if he could forgive his former manager.

"I'm not sure," he replied when asked if he could ever forgive Ferguson.

"Football is a small world and eventually you will cross paths with people again. The problem I had and one of the reasons when you are writing things and reflect on it is when you work with somebody for such a long time, and obviously we had our disagreements and I departed and I had no problems with that.

"It's afterwards when you start coming out with all sorts of nonsense.

For Alex Ferguson not just to criticise myself, but other players who were part of a team that brought good days to supporters. When you think of what he made out of it, he made millions of pounds, he got his statue, he got a stand named after him."

Premier League - Keane: Mourinho is a disgrace - and lucky he hasn't been punched.

Jose Mourinho has emerged as Roy Keane's latest target with the Irishman branding the Chelsea manager disrespectful and a disgrace.

Aston Villa assistant manager Keane, who has already created waves in the football world this week with the release of his autobiography, was asked at the launch of the book in Dublin about Mourinho's early handshake before the end of Chelsea's win over Villa.

Two weeks ago the Chelsea boss decided he had seen enough before the full-time whistle had sounded and offered his hand to his Villa counterpart Paul Lambert, who refused to shake hands, instead pointing to his watch to indicate it was not yet time for such formalities.

Keane, who sat next to Lambert and merely ignored Mourinho when he was tapped on the shoulder, was also left seething by the incident, and suggested the Portuguese would have been punched if he had acted the same way during a park game.

“I don’t mind all that but the game is still going on. It’s disgraceful, I’ve seen him doing it to other managers, it’s a disgrace," Keane said.

“The game is still going on. You wouldn’t do that on a Sunday morning, you would get knocked out.”

A fair few years ago I was involved in an intra-company footy match, I was playing for the Manchester office team against the Sheffield office team. It was a two-legged affair, with Sheffield taking a narrow 2-1 lead with them after the first leg at the Don Valley Stadium.

Anyway, my defensive partner, 17st 6' 3" of him had had the mickey taken out of him a little bit by this young little whippet of a striker - must have been 9st/10st, about 5' 8". Anyway, when the opportunity arose this bloke flung himself two footed at this little bloke - snapped his leg in half, I was a good 30 metres away and heard the sound of his bones snap. The squeal this lad made as he unsuccessfully tried to stand back up was horrible, truly horrible. He just crumpled back to the ground and cried.

About 30 minutes after the incident the ambulance arrived and this lad spent almost 18 months on crutches.

I love a "full blooded" tackle but to purposefully set out to injury is despicable and cowardly - a c*nt's trick. Keane didn't tackle Haaland, just like my mate didn't tackle the whippet of a striker. It's assault.

I've seen a leg break in a Sunday league game that I played in. Ambulance on the pitch etc. It's that sort of **** that made me give it all up tbh.

One of the mates played for a local kids team. His brother had his leg broken in a tackle accidentally.

Next time they met the end tire team set out for revenge and a leg was broken.
