To be fair, I think they're more likely to arrange friendlies in in Barcelona, Munich and Madrid...

It's still travelling and distraction, and assuming the training team and Van Gaal have to be present at the very least... Possibility of injuries etc. I can't in any way see this being a good idea! Their defence as it stands is decimated. Having to field even their reserve defenders is putting a risk on their first team defence as they just don't have the squad to play these kind of friendlies. That's before considering acclimatisation, travelling and the other things Darkon mentions.Originally posted by Alex View Post

Van Gaal said in the summer he wasn't happy about how focused the club was on the commercial side and that wasn't always helpful to creating a good football team so I can hardly see him being too enamoured with this idea.
