Manchester United are expected to complete the £31m signing of Netherlands winger Memphis Depay from PSV Eindhoven next week.
Depay, who has scored 21 goals this season, will sign a four-year contract.
United are understood to be paying an initial fee of £24.6m, with a further £6.5m due in performance-related bonuses and additional payments.

Manchester United are facing a £17 million bill for the remainder of Nani’s Old Trafford contract with the club bracing itself for the winger to return from a season-long loan at Sporting Lisbon this summer.

United, who will complete a £22 million deal for PSV Eindhoven winger Memphis Depay subject to a medical next month, have continued to pay Nani’s £110,000-a-week wages during his loan spell at Sporting as part of the agreement which saw Argentine defender Marcos Rojo complete a £16 million move to United from the Portuguese club last August.

But although Nani has enjoyed a successful campaign with Sporting, the club he left for United in a £17 million deal in May 2007, the 28-year-old’s salary is beyond the Lisbon outfit’s financial means, even before the prospect of a transfer fee can be discussed with United.

Louis van Gaal has made it clear to the Portugal international that he has no future at Old Trafford, with Depay adding to a list of wingers which already includes Ashley Young, Antonio Valencia, Adnan Januzaj and the £59.7m British record signing Angel di Maria.
But with former manager David Moyes handing Nani a five-year contract in September 2013, United have been left with an unwanted player who is likely to prove too expensive for interested parties to pursue this summer.

Nani, who has scored eleven goals in 35 appearances for Sporting this season, admitted last week that he is planning to return to United, despite his success at Estadio Jose Alvalade.
“The fans asked me to stay, but we all know it’s hard,” Nani told A Bola. “I am very happy to have spent a year at Sporting, but I have a contract with Manchester United and my ambitions are different this time.”
United are prepared to sell Nani this summer, but with little appetite at the club to subsidise another loan move next season, Van Gaal could be forced to restore the player to his squad unless a buyer prepared to finance a permanent move emerges.

United are also ready to sell Javier Hernandez this summer if Real Madrid turn down an option to make the Mexican forward’s season-long loan at the Bernabeu permanent.
But unlike Nani, Hernandez enters the final year of his Old Trafford contract this summer and United are likely to receive at least £8 million for the 26-year-old.
That rug really tied the room together.

Good, glad to see the expensive millstones they've tied around their necks. Money is only money while its money. Once money stops being money, its simply hell.

Agent Moyes still helping out the rest of the country. We should forget Ings and put a £4m bid in for Chicarito. Start negotiating and meet at £5.5m which will probably still work out cheaper than Ings.

ings has been known to win the ball in his own half and create an attack out of nothing. he links up well and can score and assist. goals from outside the box, etc.
im no expert on chicky, but i dont recall ever seeing anything from him in his own half, no ball winning, no surging runs from midfield, etc. just the odd tap in.
not much of a team player, more of a goal hanger

They apparently only bought Depay cos they thought the Bale deal wouldn't happen.

Both Sid Lowe and Ballague are very confident that Bale is staying put.

Manchester United will sell Netherlands striker Robin van Persie, 31, and Argentina winger Angel Di Maria, 27, this summer - to make way for the signing of Real Madrid's 25-year-old Wales forward Gareth Bale. (Daily Mirror)

Tottenham's England striker Harry Kane, 21, is also at the top of United's list of summer transfer targets, with the Old Trafford club considering a £40m bid. (Times - subscription required)
