      And why would they? I don't think it's a requirement to read up on the entire history of a club to be a fan.

      I know of him but very little. George Best has been subject to many news articles and documentaries so I'm guessing most fans of a particular age will know of him. The same for Pele, Maradonna etc even though some of us weren't alive or into football at the time.

                            Utd probably are a ronaldo or suarez away from walking this league. They rarely concede and rarely lose. You get a superstar in, which they can easily afford and in this league it turns you into proper contenders. ****ing depressing really. But at least they are **** dull for their fans to endure right now. People need to start beating them now.
