They'll need Lingard and Rashford on the pitch from the start if they intend to create lots of chances. And if those two are on the pitch they'll have a lot of defending to do against Lallana/Couts/Firmy and our two full backs.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostI know it was only stoke but they created a lot of chances, I've seen it too many times before, I wouldn't put it past them ****ing us over, probably from a set piece.
Lingard and Rashford are crap defensively. So its a case of who blinks first (clue: it will be them who will play Fellaini and Rooney instead). One tit for another.

He'll do what he did a few years ago in the game when Gerrard slippedOriginally posted by Rich View PostMourinho isn't going to come to Anfield to play football IMO. He'll try and keep things really tight, look to break up play as much as possible and rely on a set-piece to score.
Waste time from the first minute to break up our play & employ every ****ty trick in the book to prevent us from getting going & build up a head of steam.....What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

Let's hope we aren't as naive as that time. I doubt it somehowSack swinging like Dub-D40 on a door hinge

I don't think he will.Originally posted by Rich View PostMourinho isn't going to come to Anfield to play football IMO. He'll try and keep things really tight, look to break up play as much as possible and rely on a set-piece to score.
He'll be feeling the pressure, to stick out a LVG style defensive bollocks side would pile it on massively, the fans are still a bit raw from that.
I also don't think it would work as well against us now. We're better organised at both ends, we're no longer relying on quick counters.
If he did it and they lost anyway the fans would turn massively.

Manchester United’s current squad is the most expensive ever assembled, with the world record purchase of Paul Pogba having taken their spending to more than £600m – according to research from the CIES Football Observatory.
The appointment of José Mourinho as manager in the summer sparked a new spending spree at Old Trafford, with Eric Bailly and Henrikh Mkhitaryan joining £93.2m Pogba as the club’s new signings. United also secured Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain, although the Swede’s estimated salary of around £10m a year makes him the highest-paid player in the country.
CIES has calculated that takes United’s overall spending on transfers and wages over the £600m mark – more than £160m than they had invested this time last year. Real Madrid had previously been the most expensive in history at £429m, with that figure having increased by more than £100m to £550m. Manchester City are third on £530m having purchased John Stones, Claudio Bravo, Nolito and Leroy Sané, among others, this summer.
After a summer that saw spending top the £100m mark, English clubs are heavily represented in the remainder of the top 10, with Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool all listed. Tottenham, Everton, West Ham and Southampton also make it into the top 20, while last season’s Premier League champions Leicester are down in 27th on £114m.

Michael Owen (yes I know) made some good points about the structure of their midfield yesterday and how Pogba played miles upfield from Herrera who got left dreadfully exposed. And whilst I think Maureen will go mega defensive and try to pinch a draw if he does look to be more attacking there could be plenty of vacated space for us to fill in front of their back four.

Actually I am too, but nice to see them bickering amongst each other over the prospect of a Liverpool game
