“I am the manager of one of the greatest clubs in the world but I am also one of the greatest managers in the world,” Mourinho told reporters.

“Did you read any philosopher or in your information you never spent time reading Hegel? Just as an example Hegel says the truth is in the whole, is always in the whole…

“Do you ask that question to the manager that finished third in the Premier League or fourth? To the manager who finished fifth.

When told that Jurgen Klopp had been asked that, Mourinho responded: “Because he never win anything in international for example… I tell you what I think, how he feels. And I answer you the question. That’s easy. I had last season great success.

“I had great success last season that’s what you probably don’t want to admit. I analyse my performance, myself and for me is more important what I think than what you think.

“I repeat that two seasons ago we had a fantastic season by winning the Europa League, this season and last everybody thought Atletico Madrid was amazing because they won the Europa League after being knocked out of the Champions League.

“We won Europa League because that was our level. We are the last team in England to win a European trophy. And last season, I repeat, I won eight titles, I am the only manager in the world that won in Italy, Spain and England and by winning eight titles – not small titles or countries – my second position last season is one of my greatest achievements in football.”

Football management basics #1: The next game is the most important game of the season. Nothing else counts.

I can't think of any other manager that would carry on in this way. It's great to see his ego undermining everything else around him.

I suspect though, that he is trying to (some might say, selflessly) deflect focus from his abject team and their performances by shielding them from the spotlight. Kinda well trodden path, but also that path could do with maybe resurfacing.
      Oh I don't know.

......others would rightly say he's completely lost the plot

I know this is funny to us but if I was a Utd fan that sort of talk would annoy the ****e out of me.

Is he so selfless, committed to the cause and ego free that he would make himself look like a massive bellend for them? I doubt it.

No, but I think it might be what he thinks he's doing. The "them against us" narrative has been a feature since day 1 at Chelsea, as has been the ego - ergo the long awaited nod to his "special one" antics.

He's a conniving, calculated, bitter megalomaniac. He loves the limelight. He loves to distract from any of his teams' (or his own) failings, by all accounts.

But ultimately, he's now just a deranged, muttering lunatic.

If you listen to the media he would. Classic Mourinho deflecting from the **** team and directing everything to him. Although the tide is turning on his ego driven agenda as he slides into mediocrity.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has fired shots at Tottenham fans in a heated press conference.

Mourinho blindsided Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp while referring to himself as “one of the greatest managers in the world”.

But the Portuguese was not done there, licking the wounds inflicted by Tottenham on Monday.

Spurs beat United 3-0 at Old Trafford, which represented the heaviest home defeat of Mourinho’s entire managerial career.

He clearly did not take too kindly to the visiting supporters treating him to a rendition of “you’re not special anymore”.

“Yeah,” he began, “but they didn’t have that song when we beat them at Wembley a couple of months ago, that final they had a big dream to go, a title they had a big dream to win, because they don’t win many.

“In that night at Wembley the United fans were singing the special one and of course they were not singing that.”

Haha, ****ing hell, he needs to let it go. He is getting bogged down in some pretty strange details, so 2 years ago the Spurs fans weren't singing about him being ****...

                    Who gives a ****?

Feels like he is about to lose it Michael Douglas "falling down" style.

Someone should ask him about the female physio at Chelsea, just to tip him over the edge.

The doctor wasn't it? That would probably set him off

It does feel a little like his last season with Chelsea, takes no responsibility for the failings of his team whatsoever, blames anyone and everyone he can as to why things aren’t working out without the self awareness to realise this is his team and it’s what he’s put together for a considerable amount of money over the past couple of seasons.

                          Pogba
                          Lindelof
                          Bailly
                          Fred
                          Sanchez
                          Matic
                          Mickey Ryan
                          Lukaku
                          Dalot

I mean it’s not as if he’s not been backed and backed well. His go to player seems to be bog brush and feckin launch it but the football they play is just awful to watch and I can’t imagine what it’s like to work for the prick, demoralising doesn’t really cover it
The only possible thing would be whether any of those are the 2nd or 3rd choices as he's not been backed that little bit more to get Alves and Simao and ended up with half the player for 90% of the fee, but ... I think he lost it about 3 years ago. He'll be in the priory by Christmas and exiled to Elba before the CL Final.

Apologies. Yeah she was a Dr

That was the begining of the end at Chelsea and he's arguably never recovered

He's getting sacked soon. His outbursts seem designed to try and remind people of his past achievements.
