That sounds brutal. Beads of sweat forming after the introductions.
I went for some sort of MI6 job which was a massive exam type scenario once and I should have bailed out of that.

The one I did walk out of was on the back of one that I should have. Was a sales job. The guy was a ****ing prick (as was the methodology) he called a girl into his office and gave her a ‘dressing down’ whilst I waited. He gave off this kind of wide boy persona that I just can’t get on board with at all.

    I ****ing hated him.

The next one was for a Start Up and was just pathetic, again the culture of the company would have sent me spiralling into a Michael Douglas ‘Falling Down’ situation within weeks. And I could tell that within about 10 seconds. Even waiting in reception I was hating it. They had an acoustic guitar in one corner ffs, and the receptionist was dressed like a hooker, bored out of her mind just on her phone. So in the end I just ****ed it off and told them there was no chance this was going to work for me, they did seem surprised . Walking away from it I felt amazing. Like Renton at the end of Trainspotting (without the bags of cash).

Sticking it to the man always feels awesome

I had an interview for a research job once and there was 1 position and there were 5 of us interviewing for it and we all had to hang out together for the day. We all had to give presentations on previous work and had to watch all the other candidates presentations. I was last up and after watching 4 people give presentations showing that they had experience doing almost exactly what the role was doing, I had to get up and give a presentation on stuff that was only tangentially relevant and explaining why my transferable skills made me an ideal candidate for the job. Obviously I didn't get it, and to this day I have no idea why they even wanted to interview me as it must have been clear from my application that the other candidates were much more suitable, but they paid my travel and hotel costs, I felt it was a complete waste of a couple of days of my life.

That sounds awful. Definitely one where you want to go first.

Maybe it gave you a burning hunger and desire???

Truely awful experience, fortunately it was clear I wasn't getting the job before I stepped up, so the pressure was off

Not sure why people want to put potential employees in that situation, brings the worst out in everyone.

Can't say I've ever walked out of an interview (as much as looking back I should have) but when I did land a job after a day grafting with the other members of the sales team - they told me I was their preferred candidate and they wanted to offer me the role, they insisted on going into another meeting room and ringing a bell. A ****ing school bell drilled onto the wall... apparently when they signed a new client, they rung the bell. I asked them if they were being ironic... and after many confused looks on their faces, they said no, it's what they do, part of the culture, etc.. I told them to ****ing grow up, it isn't play school... grown men in suits and ties ringing a ****ing bell. Jesus. I told them I wanted a job and a career not some cringe masonic lodge. And I walked out.

Why has he taken out an advert in the MEN if he wants Manchester United fans to see it?

At least he gave it a go. We had a lad arrive at 8am, my Dad said 'go make yourself some tea or coffee while I finish what I'm doing' and about an hour later, when he hadn't resurfaced, went to see where he was and he'd ****ed off. 5 minutes and a nice boss was enough to convince him that wasn't the job for him

I've never walked out of a job or an interview before but have thrown an interview as the first auto complete suggested when I typed the first word of the company was complaints. It was before just the full company name ffs. My big regret from a job I hated when getting busted by my bosses boss playing scrabble online was to apologise instead of asking if they could see a decent move.
