My feelings are that he deserves a ban for stupidity. In general there doesn’t need to be intent for something to be racist/racially offensive.

As a person who identifies as a white man, I don’t think it’s my place to say whether it’s offensive, but in my opinion it’s not... I think the FA backed themselves into a corner, by introducing the 3 match minimum rule- I think that this is a case where 1 match would be fair, and I don’t think united/cavani could complain at all. Bernardos post last year was a lot worse and was certainly offensive- somethings wrong when cavani is going to get 3 times the punishment that Bernardo got...

But as I say, he deserves what he’s gonna get for stupidity alone. I can’t believe that the clubs don’t have some sort of clause in the contract where that requires a club PR manager to sign off on online posts or something... this isn’t the first time a player has been banned for stupid online posts and it won’t be the last time
