I was thinking about the shirt sales thing. I reckon it is bollocks.
I reckon the majority of people buying shirts for kids etc. have commited to doing so. The only thing that changes is which player you have on the back.
No way does any signing, Messi, Ronaldo - anyone drive up millions of NEW shirt sales, as in millions of people that weren't committed to buying a shirt anyway.
So the interesting bit for me would be if 3 million people buy Ronaldo shirts, how many fewer people buy Rashford and Cavani shirts.
It smacks of creative accounting.Modifying post.

I had a vague memory of it, but found the detail quite shocking.
he has been accused of sexual assault and admitted that his alleged victim told him “no” and “don’t do it” repeatedly.Modifying post.

I have made the same point (highlighted) to Utd fans I know - pointing out that if instead of buying a Rashford jersey they bought a Ronaldo one it would cost the club money as names are usually pay by the letter......Originally posted by Buzzo View PostI was thinking about the shirt sales thing. The extra sales don't come from die hard supporters. A lot of football fans follow players rather than being tied to a particular team and will but shirts because they like the shirt.
Most Mexicans have their Mexican club and then follow European football. Sometimes they have favorite teams and sometimes they want to watch particular players.

I've been trying to find the post on this forum where someone said their not interested in football partner saw his pic and recognised his as the one with wandering hands in Manchester nightclubs when he was youngerOriginally posted by Buzzo View Post

Do you reckon that happens to the numbers they are claiming at a £70 shirt, even with say 85% profit they’d literally need to sell millions of them.Originally posted by topscorer View PostThe extra sales don't come from die hard supporters. I don’t buy it (literally and figuratively).Modifying post.

The idea that suddenly millions of people are going to go out and buy a shirt that they would not have bought because Ronaldo is there is laughable. The are mosly going to be shirts that would have been sold anyway, many of those would have had a different player on the back too.
Its the same as the Fernandes penalty scenario. Ronaldo goals from the spot are at his expense, not additional.Football without Origi is nothing

Hmm, I think they'll sell millions of shirts with Ronaldo on the back, for him, for us, for Chelsea etc. Not in this country but there are billions of people in the earth. Why else would sponsors pay such massive sums to footoball?Experimental music, Metropolitan foodstuffs, Mexican wrestler art, London suburbia, wry whimsy, fansy pants flim flam lad
