I was wondering about that also. The evidence is pretty convincing and that's just from what we have seen. Whether that is admissible?

He’s always got the option of joining Raith Rovers at least.

Often the reason for rape charges not sticking is the 'it was consensual' line.

If he has sent messages or left voicemails there is zero ambiguity. Couple that with the video and pictures of the injuries he's done for. Even if the sexual offences don't stick the violence ones will.

Threats to kill alone could kiss goodbye to his 20's by the time he eventually goes to trial (saw a tweek last week before the story broke that said if you were charged 'today' it could be 2024 or 2025 for some crown court trials.

I think based on his, with evidence of controlling or coercive behaviour he is likely somewhere around B2 which would be a relatively modest 6 months to 2.5 years. A2 or B1 would both make it 1 to 4 years.

There are a lot of factors that work in his favour but that is just one offence. Add in the others and potential consecutive rather than concurrent sentencing and it will rack up.

Would assume so, however he was the one who tried to get a couple of sex workers into the bubble when away with England. If he literally plays away, it could be someone else.

Unfathomable decision, what a needless mess they’ve made.

Something I've always been unsure of with Goodwillie is how his trial sits legally. I know the police took no action and he didn't go to prison. Could the private prosecution only ever be liable for monetary damages?

Is it the same burden of proof or is it a lower threshold ie not beyond reasonable doubt to on the balance of probability?

Wasn't the shirt sponsor an author advertising her own website?

Proper love for the club/nobody else gave a damn anyway

Seems like you understand it fine. It’s as you suggested.

Goodwillie is a blast from the past. An unwelcome one - absolute thundercunt. I'll leave it at that.

He was a grade A cunt from a young lad, I doubt ignorance of that could be an excuse for any Scottish club and Raith know him better than most, probably.

It's Val McDermid - she used to work with my mate's dad as a journo and makes a lot of money. She smokes cigars, drives a range rover and takes no **** Good on her.

Absolutely, she is a life long supporter and she is walking away. She has drawn the line. I doubt it will make any difference but her conscience will be clear.
