The consensus seems to be they won't get a penny of public money for the actual stadium build however the infrastructure improvements and redevelopment of the area surrounding the stadium will be met in part by public finances.

Given the **** show at the club a circus tent is entirely appropriate!Originally posted by spud_gun View PostRendering of their new stadium has been released.
It looks like a giant circus tent.
A **** giant circus tent
The proposed modular design & using the ship canal is a good idea tho. The width restrictions at the locks and building a fab yard further up the canal with a suitable berth would be challenges to overcome. But anything is possible with enough money and a compliant planning dept.
I think Elsmere Port or, more likely, Runcorn would be possible locations for the yard.We are here for a good time not a long time....

Surely Anfiled is deserving of some regeneration too?
That would allow us to extend the Kop and the SKD stands. If the Government sets a precedent by funding urban regeneration and adding the necessary infrastructure for Utd, we should be all over that.We are here for a good time not a long time....

a billion £ in debt, which, according to Ratcliffe, would have seen the club go under by Xmas 2025 if they hadn't sacked a few dinner ladies, does not exactly play well to the investor market.
They will be asking someone to fund an additional £2bn++ for the new stadium against that operating backdrop and their worst league finish in 35 years, with little hope of turning it around on the pitch quickly—that kind of money will come at a very healthy premium. We are here for a good time not a long time....

And on top of that, putting the boot into players INEOS didn't sign and bigging up the players & coaches they did sign is really transparent, right?Originally posted by Buzzo View PostPR wise this is all disastrous, they’ve clearly not consulted anyone with even a semblance of PR understanding.
Pleading poverty and slashing staff lunch budgets, removing a £40k pledge to support an ex-players charity one day, proposing a £2bn stadium the next.

I think it looks horrible, if I'm being honest. The external tent like affairs don't do it for me, as said above it makes it look a little like a circus.Originally posted by Norbs View PostLooks incredible to be fair, lucky cunts. Not so much the stadium but the area
I can see them building a new stadium (lets be honest, Old Trafford is in need of serious maintenance, so a complete scrap and rebuild would be the best/cheapest bet) but I think it will end up being a more generic bowl. If they did something like that arena in Germany (is it the Allianz Arena or something) that would probably be more cost efficient, and not look so out of place.
Where do they plan on playing whilst this new stadium is being built, does the report say?
