1141 FOOTBALL: QPR reach an agreement with Sao Paulo for striker Henrique subject to a work permit, the Press Association understands.

Brazilian striker Henrique has hailed the prospect of joining QPR as "a fantastic opportunity".

The 20-year-old Sao Paulo star revealed he had spoken to new Rangers boss Mark Hughes about signing for the Barclays Premier League strugglers on a reported 18-month loan deal, including the option of a permanent transfer.

Henrique, who was voted player of the tournament at last summer's Under-20 World Cup in Colombia, may struggle to obtain a work permit due to his lack of senior international caps. He said in the Sun: "I know a lot of clubs are interested in me. But when I spoke to Mark Hughes and QPR, they made me feel very excited about their plans."

Henrique added: "I want to go to a club with ambition and to play in London would be a fantastic opportunity.

"The manager is known everywhere. He played for great clubs like Manchester United and Barcelona.

"As a striker, I know I can learn so much from him. I've always wanted to play in Europe and, for me, England has the most exciting league in the world.

Nothing in the French press. He'll wait till the summer I'd have thought and have far better choices available.

              Toon swoop for Cisse
              Newcastle to seal Senegal coup

Newcastle United are set to seal a deal for Freiburg star Papiss Cisse, Sky Sports understands.

The 26-year-old has emerged as one of the most feared strikers in Germany over the past 18 months.

He scored 22 goals last season and has already scored nine this term.

The likes of Arsenal, Tottenham, Blackburn and Aston Villa have all been strongly linked whilst Sunderland were understood to be close to sealing a deal last summer.

The Black Cats have again been strongly linked this January, but it is now believed that Newcastle are close to pulling of a transfer coup.

Cisse has been away with Senegal, coincidentally with Newcastle's Demba Ba.

Cisse is now flying into Tyneside on Tuesday to undergo a medical and finalise the deal, before flying back out to Africa.

The deal which will be around £10million is sure to shock many, as it was thought Newcastle's only target this month would be a new central defender.

****ing hell, if that's true, we should be all over Cavani. And Llorente too. If FSG want to take us to the top, this is the first step.

                I'd take Tevez too

Anyone know anything about Papiss Cisse who's just signed for Newcastle?

Wonder if he's a replacement for Ba or slated to play with him?

Newcastle are taking the Papiss now

Scored for fun in Germany but I am a little unsure about his all round game and whether he can bring that form with him, if he can he'll be a great signing for them.

Newcastle have been doing good business.

Cisse, Ba, Tiote, Cabaye, Santon, and Ben Arfa for peanuts.

and I am pretty sure they would still have a few quid left from the 35million they robbed from us.

Yep. I'm actually a bit jealous of their scouting department

I think we have the least imaginative scouting network ever.

Henderson, Downing, Bellamy, Downing, Caroll, Enrique - I think our world wide network of scouts suggested these names after watching MOTD in their living rooms.
