    If you want a dull commentator who does talk a bit of sense, they should get Neil Mellor in. I notice he was on a Sky panel recently too.

      I don't see putting Owen and Shearer on as the only two pundits as a good thing - they barely have a personality between them.
      The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

        He always pauses mid-sentance for no apparent reason. Anyone else noticed this? It's infuriating

          Yes. Pauses then repeats the... the last word. Even 2/3 letter words.

          It's as though he's trying to develop a stammer.

            He's so boring. His monotone delivery grates on me, he seems devoid of humour as well. He says very little of interest and makes me tired when he talks.

              IMO this applies to both Michael Owen and Alan Shearer, so there's no way they should be on together.
