Agree, there are not too many options for them. The tranny ban really limits who would be prepared to take the job, knowing they cannot bring in fresh blood, plus losing established players, including their best player
Im surprised at how well Lampard did at Derby. Hes not a bad manager, taken too it better than a lot of people from his peer group.
Dont think he will pass muster at Chelsea, but he might be there for longer than most. Which is decent for everyone else
From what I remember Monk did well his first season and surprised everyone and now everyone knows he's **** which is why he's been added to the English manager recycle bin.
If their transfer ban is upheld he'll probably get a free pass for the season, as long as they don't totally tank, club legend as a player still fresh in fans memories, transfer ban, best player leaving and them unable to replace him, the excuses are already there...
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Disagree with that assessment. Monk was doing really well at Birmingham until he got fired into the atmosphere by their silly owners. All of their fans liked him.
Surely this is too soon? Even if he is successful he gets 2 maybe 3 seasons max. Of that, 1 is without being able to sign any players. What does he do after that?
I suppose the argument is what he gets that few others will get is time. He's a Chelsea "legend" so the idea would be the fans won't turn on him so quite so quickly.
Not sure it will actually work that way in reality though, but that's the theory.

He will get more time with less pressure, but it would be great to see them slowly dwindle and ambromovich reluctant to pull the trigger (or administer the polonium) on a chelsea legend, ****ed if you do/dont.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.
