Gabriel Marcotti was on the Second Captains podcast yesterday and he said basically the same as that article - the plan is based on the value of the club constantly going up and being able to shift players based on the low wages. But it ignores the fact that they won't be playing so who the **** is going to see and want them and it doesn't seem to be working on the pitch where it kinda matters and also the fact that a constantly increasing value for the club is very high risk strategy given that the transfer market atm indicates general belt-tightening which really corrects the market and slows growth.Felching ≠ Gerbilling

No ****!Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca says there could be "problems" if the club cannot trim his large squad before the transfer window closes.
The Blues have made 11 signings so far this summer which has seen the senior squad swell to more than 40 players.
Earlier this week, Maresca said England internationals Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell were part of a group of about 15 players told to train away from the main first-team group.
"At the moment, with the squad that we have, I am working with 22, 23 or 21 players - not with the 42 players, otherwise it is impossible," Maresca said.
"It is impossible for any manager in the world to make a session with 45 players. It's impossible. You cannot do that."Modifying post.

I'm finding Maresca's comments over the course.of this week quite refreshing. On the surface he's being entirely forthright about his squad size and the players he does and doesn't want.
I can only assume he's been given assurances he can work with the players he wants and the club will try to shift the rest.

From the BBC...
It will be interesting to see how Chelsea deal with the difference in contract value if Sterling does move - it will set the tone for future contract buy-outs of players on stupidly long contracts who they deem surplus to requirements.Arsenal have been offered winger Raheem Sterling but he can't leave until issues around a pay-out for losing some of his projected earnings while on over £300,000-a-week will be key.
If all bonuses are met, his side believe they are owed a staggering £70m, which would have to be made up, or a loss negotiated between him, the buying club and Chelsea. We are here for a good time not a long time....

They’re also looking at loaning out Firmino, which would leave them open to going for Osimhen. Who knows, Chelsea are a joke.Originally posted by Sus View PostThat Saudi club has now agreed a 40m quid deal for Toney, and apparently they are only able to buy either Toney or Osimhen, not both
