His tactics have cost him the title. Outright defensive ****e at Old Trafford for example. Played with no striker

A change of scenery, ie at Manchester United, would re vitalise him. He's pissed off that he ended up at Chelsea and not his dream gig and it shows. Hopefully they hurry up and appoint Giggs or Van Gaal before Roman gets sick of the Jose circus again.
Or even better, Roman gets sick of Chelsea and packs his money bags and leaves :-D

Ha, and if I remember rightly a certain Norwegian red-head scored that one for him at Anfield.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostWar of attrition is right. It's the only way he knows in big games. Before the Atleti semi-final 2nd leg, these were his CL semi-final results as Chelsea manager.

Nope. It was Joe Cole at the Bridge I think.Originally posted by Pippo View PostHa, and if I remember rightly a certain Norwegian red-head scored that one for him at Anfield.
Riise was the year after. Last kick of the game.
We still fought well and took it to extra time in the away leg. Great Torres goal from a Yossi pass.Patience when teased often, transforms into rage

I think it's too late for Mourinho though. I reckon everything's sorted with Van Gaal, unless he's been given a glimmer of hope. I said after Moyes was sacked, and Di Marzio went on Twitter saying Man Utd were after Mourinho, and he was thinking about it, that he may try and force himself out of the club.
However, Chelsea is his home. They form a cuntish synergy that has no bounds. I know he's said after winning titles in England, Italy, and Spain, that he wanted to go to a club and build a dynasty, and I honestly thought Chelsea was a natural fit. He'd return home a hero, and establish a dynasty, as he always dreamt of in his earlier days, to rival that of Ferguson's at Man Utd. However, he's shown nothing to demonstrate that. I think he's promised Abramovich that he could develop young players and play attractive football. What we've seen in the last 2-3 months is anything but that.
I think he desperately wanted to be Ferguson's 'Chosen One', waltz in, handle all the pressure, win a shed load of titles, possibly more than Ferguson, and finish up as Portugal national coach.

He is brilliant at clubs who play with underdog mentality. His achievements with Porto and Inter where outstanding. I dont think his tactics is suited for clubs like Madrid or Chelsea (after Abramovitch spent a billion pounds).Originally posted by Muddled View PostThe siege mentality he tries to install in his teams is faltering.
Terry, Lampard, et al fell for it. Casillas, Ronaldo (to an extent), probably Hazard (now) and a number of others can see through it.
He's picked his positions well to boost his CV but it's short-termism and his longevity is short and diminishing.

Things have backfired for Mourinho this season for sure. His mind games & media blurts have really failed. Does anybody else think he has looked ill this season? He has played anti football this season no doubts, he seems to clearly feel that his attacking options aren't good enough to play any sort of attacking football.... which is ridiculous considering the players he has. I know it was never his forte, but this season has be negative to the extreme, even if they are sorely short of a striker/s.
But to be fair there is no better defensive coach in the game. He can kill a game flat. Whatever about the man, his personality & the anti football .. he is a brilliant manager & his record is incredible. IMO he will (as he does) spend big money on players this summer.. obvious i know. But personally i think next season we will see just as strong defensive tactics but a side built to counter attack & with a top striker or strikers upfront for end product.
I'm absolutely delighted he has won nothing this season but IMO i can see him fixing what needs to be done with Chelsea for next season.
P.S. At Madrid wasn't his finest hour, but he did win the league.. when Barca were a force to be reckoned with.
P.P.S. Unlucky this season

I talked up Ronaldo because he is the best player in the world. I talk up Bale because he is a quality player & some people on here have an irrational hatred for him.Originally posted by Muddled View PostYou talk up Mourinho, Ronaldo, Bale, Real Madrid, et al.
I bet you shave against the grain.
As for Mourinho i have said he is not a particularly nice guy, but it's blatantly untrue to say he isn't a brilliant manager. IMO it is people's dislike for the man cloud their judgement.
So really it's not me talking anyone up.. more so recognising that Ronaldo is amazing, Bale is a decent guy and glad to see him do well. I only talk about Mourinho.. because this is the Mourinho thread, it's not like i want his babies
