Shearer, Fowler and RVN are streets ahead of the rest I'd say.

Henry was easily at their level as a player, but not for finishing ability.

Amazed that Kevin Phillips has been mentioned, he had one incredible season and a load of decent ones. I'd put plenty of others ahead of him, like Ferdinand, Cole and Owen.

Just looked at his stats, one season with 30 PL goals his next best was 14.

Shearer, Fowler and Henry. And maybe van Nistlerooy. Anyone saying Owen needs their head (and eyes) examining, and then they need to look at his goals record. Very good, but even at his best it wasn't near that of the 4 I mentioned above at their respective peaks.

Are you serious mate? Owen was a very good finisher for us. He had 5 seasons for us with 20+ goals and won the Ballon d'Or with us! Injuries ruined him in the end, but up untill then he was very good.

I might not have been the best, but to say he was far off is not fair IMO.

Other than that, I have to agree with what is mentioned namely Shearer, Fowler, RVN and Henry.

What about Van Persie, how do people rate him as a finisher?

Owen was good. Not as good as RvN or Henry though. I refuse to ackowledge Shearer because of the fact he was a massive bellend when he played.

I think he's way lower than Shearer, Fowler & RVN, and well behind behind the likes of Henry & Torres too.

Owen may not have scored goals at quite the same rate as some of the others mentioned, but his finishing was impeccable. It was his lack of other assets that meant he didn't match their goal tallies. Henry was a far better player, but I'd say Owen was easily the better finisher of the two.

Not sure myself, think Henry was very much underrated as a finisher (as seen in this thread) due to him being so brilliant at the other stuff. When Henry was in you knew he'd score and he invariably did.

In fact both he & Owen were masters of the old "open the body up and bend it in to the far corner".

I think he was refering to 20+ goals in all comps? He had 5 seasons with us scoring more than 20.

Wasn't disputing what Darkon said - he made no mention of league goals - I was just throwing it out there.
