I have a theory why Wengers behaviour has got a lot worse in the last two years, eg. Jol, Pardew x 2, Liverpool's champions league win. Thats the ones just of the top of my head. It all started after the undefeated season they had in 03/04 and people where talking about them dominating English football for years to come. Then came Chavski and they look as if they might dominate the league for a few years so thats the end of Arsenals chance of dominance, he is finding it hard to take and shouting about anything he can. Just because they play pretty football, if pretty football won everything don't you think all the teams would play that way?

Wenger, the theory.
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

To be honest I think he lost it yesterday due to a number of reasons that all combined to make him lose it. After blitzing Reading, the draw at home to Everton, the poor result in Europe, and then the last minute defeat at West Ham (including the Hleb penalty incident) will have jolted him big time. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

There was a fella from France Football on TalkSport earlier today explaining that this behavious is nothing new from Wenger.
During his time at Monaco he had a notoriously bad temper.
The consensus appeared to be that Wenger has always been this way.
Generally i don't pay attention to anything said on TalkSport however i do tend to pay attention when they have the forgien sports journalists on [Marcotti, Ballague and the fella from France Football]
Even Paddy Barcley, who'd quite happily have Wengers children if biology permitted, admitted that Wenger can be a tad cantankerous.

But does anyone else think that he has got alot worse? Or does everyone think I am talking **** again.I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I think there's something in what you say. He's certainly got a lot more to be rattled by than when his only real rival was Boozer Ferguson.Originally posted by El DiegoBut does anyone else think that he has got alot worse? Or does everyone think I am talking **** again.
Then again, maybe we're now more alert to his pettiness and his bad temper. I know I am..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Do you think so? How come? He hasn't spent huge amounts, his reputation at Arsenal is secure, he has a young and developing team that will probably only get better - why do you think he is under so much pressure?Originally posted by kopdanyes
yes he is
he is facing massive pressure to beat Utd and Chelsea. More so than Rafa
Of course there must always be huge pressure on any manager at such a big club but in Wenger's case I would have thought that the pressure comes from within him rather than the board or the supporters. I would have thought this applies to Rafa too..

because Arsenal were supposed to dominate football until Utd got a second wind and Chelsea got a second / third / fourth team.
He has to do it all again now to get back on top BUT he doesnt have the money that he did have or the level field he had before Roman."What's your favourite Beatles album then?"
"I think I'd have to say....Best of the Beatles"

It's good to hear that someone is thinking the same thing as me. I can see him out of a job in three years if they don't win anhything and finish fourth like they probably will. He also goes on about there youngsters but I think that they only really have Cesc that is any good.Originally posted by kopdanbecause Arsenal were supposed to dominate football until Utd got a second wind and Chelsea got a second / third / fourth team.

How about Clichy and Van Persie to name a couple that spring pretty readily to mind?Originally posted by El DiegoIt's good to hear that someone is thinking the same thing as me. Also, don't forget they did make it to the final of the Champions League last year, hardly a bad performance even if it did ultimately end in failure.
I know a lot of Arsenal fans and they don't feel anything but admiration for Wenger. They also know that he has not had as much money as Chelsea and MU and know that it's hard to compete with them.
I think you're right - he'll probably be out of a job in three years if they don't win anything but isn't that likely true for Rafa or any other manager at a top club? What you say is hardly controversial there..

I see what you mean but I don't think that's how football works. The fact that Arsenal didn't go on to dominate as some expected does not mean Wenger has failed.Originally posted by kopdanbecause Arsenal were supposed to dominate football until Utd got a second wind and Chelsea got a second / third / fourth team.
