Thanjk you.

Don't understand why he's playing Meireles and not Lampard, neither is really the future of Chelsea, so i don't see why he favours Meireles, he gives them so much less imo, no goals, no tackles for starters.

Odd imo.
yeah, he's a real passenger in the middle of the park.
was shown up in certain games for us last season but not to this extent, especially in a centre mid of 2, and not 3.

I'd play Meireles over Lampard every day of the week. However playing Meireles in a holding role is stupid. They really need a fully fit Essien.

I wouldn't, he doesn't retain possession when it's needed, doesn't tackle, and doesn't score goals, Lampard atleast gives them two of those.
He is certainly not a player i would want on the field with me when the chips are down, and your in a battle or trying to dig yourself out of a hole as Chelsea are.

Lampard no longer scores goals, both are similar in terms of tackling and keeping possession.
Meireles at least has some loyalty to AVB and links fairly well with Mata (and Torres) Lampard on the other hand...
He's got 11 this season! Though as usual there will be a few pens in there but he's got some vital goals like their winner at Wolves, winner at home to Sunderland, winner at Blackburn. He's lightyears ahead of Meireles.
Also Meireles doesn't take pens or the direct freekicks.
13 in 32 last season, 27 in 51 the season before that, and 20 in 57 the season before that.
pretty awesome goalscoring return for a midfield player whether he hits all the free kicks and penalties or not.
and i wonder why he's on the free kick and penno's duties? probably because he's been consistently one of most productive midfielders of his generation.

even comparing him with meireles is laughable.
We're comparing todays Lampard with Meireles. It's like comparing Agger with Carra, both excellent but which one would you want in your team today?
Has Lampard still got the legs? has he still got that control, has he still got that motivation? On top of that is he one of the 'senior players' contradicting the manager?

Yeah but that's come about by the manager not playing him and Chelsea winning only one in the last 6 games.

The way Chelsea play is very different to how AVB's Porto played in fact they've changed the way they play from how he lined them up at the beginning of the season.
Too many Chelsea players are used to only playing one system, too many are stuck in a rut, too many have to much power in the dressing room and are undermining the manager (like what happened to Rafa if reports are to be believed).
If i was Roman, i'd back AVB and start shipping out some of the senior players. Give him the cash to build his team (like what Mourinho had).
To be fair though long may this Chelsea misfire continue from a LFC prospective
