I thought this was fairly obvious? England currently get Champions league places offered to the top 4 finishing teams in the league - if English teams keep failing to do well in Europe then this number will be reduced.

For that to happen it would be need for every english club in CL not to get past the group stage for not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4 but 5 years IIRC, for England to lose a spot.

and english clubs would need to play badly in Europa League too.

IIRC if we get CL 4th and get through the knock out round well be in top seed pot. Even thou not been in it for 2 years
