The worst that would happen is the club folds and a new club is formed and joins the third division. 'Rangers' would be back in the top division in a three years.

Yup. There's a huge amount of greed in football, and the players are a part of that, but then if you're in a job and your employer brings someone else in to do the same thing you do for twice the money, and you think you're better than them, wouldn't you want at least the same as they're getting?

The people who I really blame in this all are the clubs and the agents. The agents are the ones sucking huge quantities of money out of the game (that stuff about Pogba's agent getting £3m for his transfer to Juve is insane) and driving the continual transfer & wages merry go round... but the clubs are complicit in everything that goes on. Problem is that even if 90% of chairmen agreed not to engage in certain practices or pay certain wage levels, the other 10% would always break that seeking to gain an advantage. Whole thing is a mess.

Some bright spark had the idea to fine them £3,000 for not settling football creditor debts so therefore there is even less money available to pay them.

They don't even play in Kettering anymore, they play at Rushden and Diamonds old ground, who went under in the summer.
