I think its because when a game is being played its almost like tribal warefare. But when something snaps you out of that, it has a bigger impact.

I remember the Marc Vivien Foe thing when it happened. There was a similar outpouring of emotion then.
    *Except Michael, who died.

One of the worst things about being a footballer is being ill. I've got a sore throat and a bunged up nose but not allowed anything for it!
did he really tweet thatwhat a knobhead and as for not being allowed anything for it thats bull, alls he has to do is call the club doctor and within 5 mins someone would be at his frontdoor with something.
          who's arsed?

People will always die in conflict zones including babies.

Young athletes don't collapse and (almost) die instantly for no apparent reason. Most of us don't think it could happen so yes I guess it's more shocking.

Good to see he's coming on well.
I watched the BBC documentary on Syria last week and it showed a subsequently killed jornalist's report that included footage of a toddler dying from a shrapnel wound. The haunting horrible feeling that I have after that is different to the feeling I have regarding Muamba's case. It's impossible to grade or even seperate out the different aspects to different people's responses to varying tragedies.

when was the last time anyone was resuscitated for over an hour? i can't imagine that happening for regular people. they usually call it after like 15 minutes, don't they?

nevertheless, very pleased to hear he's doing better.
