Would make absolutely no sense to loan him out this season to rivals (sadly) and give them a fixed price of circa £17m to buy him next summer.

Surely the whole point of loaning him out is so when (not if) he scores 20+ goals this season we can then sell him for £25m

      Those rascals.
      It is media.

They try to make a story even when there isn't one.

Terrible piece of business if you ask me.

Sell him yes but to loan him to our contenders as you said this year to buy him next I don't get that.

Almost as bad as City loaning Adebayor to Spurs which at some point almost backfired.

Can we learn from our mistakes. Ever..

I'm guessing the loan with a fixed price agreement might have something to do with FFP or Newcastle's accounts.

I'd still tell them to jog on though. Cash and cash only if we're going to sell.

                How so?

Still a loan with a fee in place at the end of a successful loan period.

Pointless deal, either they want him or not same as Aquilani where we basically got used

Newcastle are taking the piss with the loan offer. Either buy him or piss off should be our stance.

My take on the situation is... that the manager isnt that keen on AC. Couple that with the scrutiny of being manager of LFC ushering a new 'tiki taka' era, then the added pressure of getting the most from the most expensive british player. Its a sideshow I think he and the team could do without. Obviously time will tell if his decision is justified, but I think once Borini has banged in a few (and I think he will) we ll all be wondering what the fuss was all about.
                        In Klopp we trust.

What Milan had was an option to buy, what we are asking for is a commitment to buy ie a legally binding agreement. Big, big difference.

Hopefully that's the way it will happen, but if we struggle, and AC is banging in goals and newcastle are above us, then the pressure will be on big time.

As i say, hopefully it plays out to our benefit, same with Sigurdsen, and BR's judgement is proved to be spot on.

Tony Barrett and George Caulkin in The Times tomorrow:

Liverpool will allow Andy Carroll to return to his native North East if Newcastle United make a £20 million offer for the out-of-favour forward.

Their asking price will put Newcastle’s determination to capture the 23-year-old to the test and the strong likelihood is that they will be both unable and unwilling to meet it.

Liverpool, though, feel it is a realistic fee to seek for a player who cost £35 million just 18 months ago and enjoyed an impressive end to last season.

I am sure there will be milestones he'd have to pass for this to be activated, what if he's **** for them? They still buy? Business doesnt work that way
