Thanjk you.

why surely this goes to show he has the talent all he needs is the right management and coaching
I don't think the usual standards apply. Based on how he played for much of last season a storming performance would be managing to run without tripping himself and falling over.
If Martinez gets the job there is no way in hell we would sell Carroll. Having seen the way Martinez used Di Santo for Wigan then Carroll can fill this role perfectly.

Well he will still have to seriously improve, in terms of minutes played he averaged a goal every 5.7 games. That is poor.
Why are people wanting to flog carroll off? He was just starting to show some decent form for us and if he has a good tournament he could have a great year next season. If he and suarez hit regular form they could carry us in the race for the top 4 (as sad as that sounds).

Agree.
No good harping on about the price as the money has been spent. People then say about him having a good tournament and us potentially getting £15-20m back for him.
First of all I can't see anyone spending £20m on him. And secondly who would we be able to get in to replace him for that sort of money.
Guy needs to get some more minutes next year and carry on his form. If he returns three league goals then fine, sell next season. But to get rid of now is just a bit mad.

For a 1 goal in 5.7 game striker (based on minutes played, not games)? For £20m I think we'd have plenty of options for replacements.

I think that it was fairly obvious that he improved markedly towards the end of last season and a number of sources suggest a correlation with a change in training. I'm not really sure we are in a position to judge that for certain but it seems to me quite possible that those who can might feel that there is more to come from him than we have seen.
For me a lot depends on what the next manager wants in terms of style, but the way his movement improved at the end of the season I believe he will be here next season and do much better.
