No, it's not. All of these players can stay and contribute and the sole reason why they're getting shopped around is because of the manager who signed them.

Why are we gutting our squad for peanuts just to prove a point? Because if we are selling these players to gain funds to buy, I don't understand why we're practically begging to get rid and completely destroying their value.

This is not good management, this is terrible management and I get the feeling that the players we're bringing in will not be better than the players we're selling. This is needless and costly turnover of players.

Absolutely **** management, buying more players because the last ones turned out ****.

To be fair, they"re being sold because they are not good enough, regardless of who signed them. BR said he is looking for mentally strong, competitive players and none on this list meet that requirement IMO. Downing goes hiding, Adam plays one way football (and not well) and Carroll doesn't seem to technically have the ability to play flowing football on the ground. Money and wages don't matter as much as results. £60m in CL money would go a long way to offset losses...

I was worried about the footballing direction we were taking when we signed these players - I'm a lot more enthused that we're rejecting them and what they represent. This isn't bad management at all, its a manager identifying what doesn't work, who doesn't work and who is never going to fit in.

I guess we'll have to wait and see who are these "good enough" players Brendan Rodgers is bringing in.

none of the players bought have shown anything other than glimpses and some havent even shown that.

I think it shows the determination from fsg to make us succesfull.

I'd argue that it's strong management. Rodgers has come in with a system in mind and he's identified the players at the club who he thinks can fit the system, and the ones who can't. What's the point in ****ing about for another season with players who aren't suited to the way the manager wants to play? All that will do is decrease their value further and undermine our season - by trying to fit square pegs in round holes.

Regarding the players who are coming in, we've only signed one player so far, and the manager has worked with him extensively. We have to back his judgement really don't we. At least for now, until we see him play at the very least!

If we start the season without Downing, Adam, Kuyt (wages / peaked), Maxi (wages / wanted to go) and Carroll (doesn't fit the system), I think it will have been a pretty healthy cull. Replace them with young, technical players who are suited to Rodgers system. I'd be happy enough with that anyway.

Lfc is a massive pressurised club. Rodgers has a vision, and needs to show toughness and guts from the outset. If Andy Carroll is collateral damage in that, so be it.

If we can get money for someone who isn't really going to feature, then its better for everyone if he's sold on

Losses on previous fees are irrelevant to what we should be doing. All that matters is that Rodgers can get better suited/more talented players in using the funds he raises.

Don't know if the Carroll thing is a goer - wages, rival interest etc - but it was interesting to hear Lambert admit it was a possibility

Lambert not dismissing the possiblilty of Aston Villa bidding for Andy Caroll and calling him 'A Quality Player'.
