Originally posted by Fan65 View PostI would like a pound for every time I read during last season that Carroll isn't worth £10 mill let alone the £35 we paid for him, Well to be fair he's proved that right, His efforts on the pitch prove he isn't worth anything near £35 mill, yes he had a better go at it towards the end of the season and scored on the Euro's but it's a fair comment to say he's not that good and no matter how many chances we give him I don't think he'll improve that much and can we really risk another poor year from him?
Therefore a new manager, a new regime, nows the time to act, the inflated transfer and wages are legacy problems not Rodgers. He has the chance to end it now for us and Carroll amicably. Carroll will have a new start elsewhere and Rodgers will begin a new Liverpool style with the type of players he actually wants.
I don't think it's fair to say that he won't improve that much no matter how many chances we give him. His improvements toward the end of last year show there's potential there. The £35m is already spent. It doesn't matter now. All that matters is what's best for the future.
If BR has a couple of strikers that he thinks are better that he's going to bring in soon, then this move makes sense. Carroll's value would just drop further with no play time. If we're not bring in more strikers, this makes no sense. He's the second or third best striker we have. We have no depth. Also, if he plays well, his value might increase.

Yeah I heard that too. Was it on TalkSport?Originally posted by Jet K View PostI heard some North East reporter on the radio at the weekend and he was asked if we had paid all of the £35 mill and he said " a 100% No" !!!
The guy was certain that we didn't pay it all in one go - mentioned it over and over. I'm sure it's common knowledge that we did pay the fee in full. Sure we did. Llambias confirmed it didn't he?!

So then, as part of the Dempsey article on the Official:
Meanwhile, Rodgers also spoke about Andy Carroll and insisted a possible loan move away from Anfield would not be entertained.
"There has been a lot written and spoken about him but first and foremost Andy is a Liverpool player," said the boss.
"To consider a loan period for someone the club spent £35million on isn't something we're looking to do at this moment in time.
"Andy will be the same as every other player - if there's ever an offer that comes in we'd look at it as a club and see if it's going to be worthwhile for the club and the team as a whole.
"The club invested £35million in him. People talk about whether he can fit into my style or not, but if you're a club and you spend £35million on a player you'd like to think he can fit into whatever style the team plays.
"He's a good player. He'll join the rest of the group next week and we'll take it from there."

You can read a lot in to that.
"Justice has been done."
