Lee. only problem is, I suspect its highly likely hes off. One thing he has not lacked since arriving at Liverpool is support, thats all he's got, from the manager, from the fans, well actually tell a lie perhaps not from his team mates because the hardly get the ball to him. What ever happens, he will be all right, hes a talented young footballer with a bright future ahead of him, it reamains to be seen if thats with Liverpool, if someone comes in for a serious bid, you would think not. I am sure Buck can find a way to use him

He is not able to play in the system we are looking at doing. I agree he's a decent plan B, but that's what you'd have an £8m striker on the bench for.
If we can get anywhere close to £20m he will be gone, because it doesn't warrant keeping him for a plan B.
Problem is, seems he only wants to go to Newcastle according to reports. I know for fact he was strongly considering West Ham, but listening to the press it seems it's now Newcastle or nothing. And to me it doesn't seem that they're that bothered about signing him.
So he's ****ed. No way the club will let him go for £10m which is the max Newcastle will pay. I think he'll be on the bench all up until January when he'll finally come round to the fact he needs to move on and consider options other than Newcastle.Forwards.......

The thing is Nicey I dont think some fans have supported him, they were awful quick to put the boot in and still some of the fail to acknowledge when he does something positive. Anyway its clear Rodgers wants rid, but despite this I feel he will only go where he wants to and if an offer doesnt come in from a preferred club he will stay irrespective of his position in the squad
If he goes my guess is it will be on his terms and at a much lower fee than we might receive from other clubs (who Carroll isnt willing to go to)Last edited by Lecter; 13-08-12, 11:09 AM.Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I think Newcastle are only interested in a cheap deal that wouldn't affect their negotiations for their main target - Loic Remy. So I guess if that falls through, they might come back to us with an increased offer ... I dunno, I guess it'll get a little more fraught as the transfer window closes.
Oh, sorry, as the transfer window *slams* shut.

Unfortunately they wont pay anywhere near £20 million
The clubs willing to pay bigger money for him he wont go to
So the club have a choice they keep him and hope he changes his mind and decides to join one of the other clubs. Or alternatively they accept Newcastles valuation of him
My guess is it will be the latterBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

They have all the cards stacked in their favour
They'll bide their time and nearer deadline day I would expect us to foldBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

True, mind. I wonder if they get Remy, whether they'll still want Carroll.
Still, it'll be interesting to see if we stand firm or just cave. I'd rather keep him then sell him on the cheap. Although saying that, if he doesn't have a future here in Rodgers' eyes, I'd sell him on the cheap to anybody *but* Newcastle.

I would say by and large the vast majority of fans have been very good to Andy Carroll, looking for reasons to excuse his lets face it, shocking performances when he first joined us, as soon as he improved even slightly, the fans were encouraging and on the forums anyways if not in the stands focusing on his positives. The 2nd half of last season Andy was the only bright spot in an otherwise horror show of a season.
Putting his fee to one side and just focusing on his Liverpool FC main striker none of it was good enough, he heading in front of goal was poor, his hold up play was exceptional but for me the whole thing was a cluster **** from start to finish and I say that as somebody who was on the Andy Carroll is ace fan bus way before he was the next big thing in English football.
If it is a case that he simply does not fit into the system, then so be it. I would say were we are is, if a serious bid comes in, we will take it. If other teams think they can take the piss, we would rather keep him and try and mold him into the player we need rather the team he needs if you get my drift .... either way .. I find it hard to give a **** .. good lad, good footballer happy to have him wont lose any sleep if hes offAnybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. Nov 2015

It's completely possible see and name his flaws/shortcomings and not rate him as a top striker but to also be delighted when he does something well or plays well or scores. Which is in general what happens on here. And I've never heard him being booed at matches by fans.

I appreciate that but some of the posters on this site try to slate him with nonsensical posts whilst excusing others for having exactly the same failingsOriginally posted by badpiggy View PostWTF?

Man I don't know. We have our fair share of acting the bollox on here but I've seen very little senseless abuse of Carroll. If anything I think people are either bending over backwards to find the good in him or hoping against hope that he'll come good. Anyway, I hope he's either sold or he stays and proves me wrong.Felching ≠ Gerbilling

You have a poster on the other page slaughtering him for missing a header from 5 yards out and saying we should sell him because its not the first time hes missed a chance
Well thats fine but do we also apply the same to Suarez who frequently misses chances also
Some of the ****e on this forum is horrendous
Fine criticise him for not being good overall but some of the stuff is petty ****ing nonsense and is not in anyway balancedBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."
