While it may be true that he featured in 44 league games alot of those were from the bench, in terms of game time he played 2417mins which equates to a goal every 4.4 games, still a poor record but nowhere near as bad as 6 in 44 suggests.Originally posted by saj View Post

If he had been replaced I doubt much would have been said, the fact that he hasn't is cause for concern. For me I think Carroll could have got a decent amount of goals as a back up striker, in a side that struggles to score goals as we do this could make a big difference to where we end up in the table.
Even considering it from a financial point of view if the extra goals he could have provided could get us an extra couple of places in the table his wages pay for themselves.
