Yet the media seem to think he's the bees, AC This AC that, oh he's put a shift in, oh he's a big part of the reason West Ham are where they are, etc etc.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostHe's even worse than I thought he was when we signed him. I like the guy and he's capable of occasionally causing problems, but he's so limited. £35m. **** me. I was *stunned* that day and even with the passing of time, it still remains stunning, shocking and difficult to accept. £35m for the white Michael Ricketts.
Anyone would think he was a 35mill pound player.
Still not one goal though, yet the press are giving him a very smooth ride, considering they keep telling us strikers are judged on goals.
Ffs even england fans were singing to Ibra, Your just a **** Andy Carroll.
Where has all this love come from.

At best we could get around £10m for Carroll which means a hit of £25m.
The Chavs could get around £15m for Torres which means a hit of £35m.
£60m loss on those players.

Reckon Chelsea could still get £20-25m for Torres. Obviously I'm guessing but I honestly think he's got a bit of resale value.Originally posted by Tee View Post

Massive losses though mate I agree.

We desperately need several clubs to want to buy him.Originally posted by Vermilion View PostI reckon we'll get 15m for AC.
Last thing we need is to deal with Newcastle and them knowing they are the only ones interested in him. We'd be looking at about £5m.James Philip Milner Fanclub #1

WH and NC will do imo, WH already have a price of 17mil built into this loan yes ? A good season for them will imo see them pay that amount, hopefully they'll finish top 10.

This absolute gem from John Henry still leaves me slitting my wrists in despair.
"The negotiation for us was simply the difference in prices paid by Chelsea and to Newcastle. Those prices could have been £35million [from Chelsea for Torres] and £20million [to Newcastle for Carroll], 40 and 25 or 50 and 35. It was ultimately up to Newcastle how much this was all going to cost. They [Newcastle] made a hell of a deal. We felt the same way.''

It's a great excuse. What he's saying is the figures make little difference on this deal, because had Chavski not given us the 50mill, then we would not have signed AC, because NC wanted 35mill for him.Originally posted by Phoenix07 View PostThis absolute gem from John Henry still leaves me slitting my wrists in despair.
If we'd sold Torres for 35mill, then we wouldn't have spent that amount on AC.
Just sounds a bit..hmmmmm
Only thing is with that, is that we should have, seeing as we did anyway...just got the price of 50mill of Chavs, and left it at that, tell NC where to go, that would have been smart.

I watched the Hammers game last night, as I had nothing else to do and curiosity to see how Carroll was performing. I have to say his performance was dire, even under the Fat Sam's direct route football, he had little to offer. As stated by others. Dalglish and Comolli really ****ed up here.
As for re-sale value, I didnt see much based on last nights performance. IMO the best we could hope for is £8 mill and that could be a struggle to acheive

Yet all i heard on radio commentary was how AC was putting in a 'great shift', has been great for WH, and is just lacking the cherry on top of a few goals, but that when he gets one...he'll go on and get a few.Originally posted by Assassin View PostI watched the Hammers game last night, as I had nothing else to do and curiosity to see how Carroll was performing.
