If Mascherano can play centrehalf for Barcelona then pretty much anyone can.

I'd resignOriginally posted by Robbie-9-Fowler View PostJust a question, If YOU (anyone) were in charge of Barcelona, how would you take them forward?
Retry the whole Ibra thing with Llorente?
What CB's would you bring in if any?
Is Valdes good enough?
Iniesta, Fabregas, Busquets and Xavi in the same XI?
Go **** yourself

I think they do need a different option up top; whether they spend big on someone or get someone in that they can mould I don't know.Originally posted by Robbie-9-Fowler View PostJust a question, If YOU (anyone) were in charge of Barcelona, how would you take them forward?

They also need an additional centrehalf.
Let's be honest though, they're still an amazing team.Last edited by Rich; 26-04-12, 05:21 PM.James Philip Milner Fanclub #1

Xavi is supposed to be very clued up about the game from what I've read, next season will probably be too early for him but he'll end up at the helm at some point IMO.Originally posted by spud_gun View PostIf Pepe goes i can see Barca appointing someone from within their own ranksVive la France

Seems to have been forgotten.. They dominated and battered an in form Chelsea side for 180minutes hit the woodwork 3 times? over 2 legs. Not at their best but luck played a massive part.
If they sign a CB to partner Pique, what does that mean for Mascher? Back to the bench?Vive la France

Iniesta, Fabregas, Busquets and Xavi in the same XI?- I would, it can't do them any harm to have another option. That said, Llorente is probably too good to be "the other option".
- Don't know
- Yes definitely.
- No, I wouldn't start them all and Fabregas should be the one missing out. He's just not as good as the others and the others all have clear roles. I don't think anyone knows how best to deploy Cesc.

Depends on how much money i have to spend?Originally posted by Robbie-9-Fowler View PostJust a question, If YOU (anyone) were in charge of Barcelona, how would you take them forward?

I would maybe sign Llorente but if money is a problem then i would sign RVP.
I would look to bring in Jan Vertonghen as he is versatile and sign Javi Martinez.
Valdes would be ok for now, i would look to bring in a young talented keeper to keep Valdes on his tippy tappy toes.
As for your last question, i would maybe try a few different options.

I can totally understand why he wants out. He's done it all, and has assembled the greatest side of all time.
I don't even think they need to make any major signings. They should certainly NOT buy a new striker, Messi should stay in his role. They may need to strengthen their defence a bit.
What they need the most is to get hungry again. To win three league titles and two CL is a major accomplishment. It's incredibly hard to stay on top like that so consistently. It's human nature to become "content".
I'm pretty certain they'll go back to destroying everyone next season, whoever the manager is (and I suspect he'll come from within).

Totally agree, apart from the last bit. Not sure if they'll bounce straight back. Although to be fair they've still been destroying everyone this season too...just ran out of steam a bit. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
