Thinking back to that last world cup, Germany were the better side but given the right tactics England would have had a decent chance of beating them. Since I'm Welsh it is just as well that Rafa wasn't their manager.

I'd be in tears now if it wasn't for the fact that I haven't been bothered about England for years (due to Terry, Rooney and Cole)

              No tears of joy either?

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I reckon it was the early 80's the last time I wanted England to win a tournament

I've hated them since them, over-hyped and overrated

I knew someone would say that. The scoreline means nothing in the grand scheme of things - Torres happened to turn it on that day and practically won it himself. We had precious little of the ball, it was typically brutal Hodgson stuff.

The good news about Hodgson to England is that at least the rest of the country will get to see first hand just how average he is.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.
