I find it bizarre how the media and general public seem to wilfully ignore how well Capello did in qualifications....regularly cruising through tricky groups. Now Hodgson is making a massive meal of a dire group and yet everyone tries to tell us he's doing a good job and a better one than Capello. WTF
    Thanks very much for being

That is mad. Capello was a good manager. Obviously he never did well at tournements. But to do well there the players need to be good too. But under him we never really struggled to qualify.

Cant believe I softened on him. If Maclaren was the Wally with the Brolly. Hodgson will forever be known as The Cunt with the Owl face.

You could go back to the Eriksson era as well and think how good that actually was. Only ever lost one qualifying game, and always got to the quarter final stage of tournaments (I think). Yet he was ridiculed and we got the "we should have an English coach!" ****.

Please dont get me started on Sven. The only people who wanted him gone was the press. Not English = Not good enough to some of them it seemed. No legit football fan seemed to want him gone.

Made this point yesterday. Would have loved to have seen how Pelligrini would have done. He was the outstanding candidate at that point in time. But apparently Kenny wasn't impressed with him either

Why is "Roy Hodgson (England)" missing from that table?

                          I thought it was. :duh:

I guess it was drawn up before he took the job. I'll see if I can find the data.

                            Played - 15
                            Won - 9

                            Lost - 1

                            Points per game - 2.13

Obviously this isn't representative of his owliness.

2 of those wins have been against San Marino, which doesn't count.
