Every time England play he's one of the top UK trends on Twitter - one click on his name reveals it's almost exclusively abuse. He's been poor since about February but there are some seriously clueless people out there.

To be fair to the media in this case, he has been really **** for England over the last year. Plus he has been well below standard for us since Christmas-ish.

That was class defending - could easily have turned it into the back of his own net or let one of them score.
