Not being funny Nigey but do you not think all Liverpool fans feel an affinity with Liverpool, regardless of where they were born?Comment

I was being sarcastic mate. Of course they do. I have always felt an affinity for the city and its culture. It has reinforced my love for the club. It doesn't matter if you come from Liverpool or from afar.
I also understand the fiercely insular nature of some Liverpool born fans and why they would think like that. Maybe don't necessarily agree, but history suggests that London has been harsh on them for a time. There can be a lack of context from both sides and the generalisation does not help. Are we winning?Comment

All this anti Londoner stuff, actually really pisses me off. Especially as us LFC fans are supposedly so much more open and welcoming than the other fans we slag off.
Perhaps because my family are actual cockneys. Us "cockney ******s" are from the poorest area of London, Tower Hamlets (for one) is among the poorest in Europe. My great granddad, and his parents / grand parents, grew up and lived in the slums of the dock yards, enduring the same poverty and ****e as any other city up and down the country.
How is that any different to Liverpool, it's working class and its dockyards? How does the excesses or policies of the City and Government have anything to do with my family and upbringing? **** all.
To quote a famous cockney "****ing northern monkeys". There, cue the abuse.Comment

Mike Bassett finally getting a sequel, apart from the TV series anyway.
Interesting that they aim to shoot it at the World Cup.............just point the camera in the direction of England playing and that should provide most of the comedy.Mike Bassett: Interim Manager, details the story of Bassett being brought into the England camp as the number two coach to the tactically brilliant German coach Jorgen Mannstein, who has the England team playing like a dream. And Bassett mucks it all up."I will make the boys feel your support"
