I'm a bit surprised wilshere made it, but drinkwater should surely have made the squad for one of the strikers to be dropped considering they could still have had 3 and Rooney. Wilshere is the most talented midfielder and if he can be fit, you have to take the risk considering the other midfield options.

Rashford scoring screwed Hodgson because if he didn't pick him he would have had to deal with the media scrutiny. Now he has 4 strikers AND Rooney and is lacking in the one area of the pitch he needed to deal with... Midfield.

4-4-2 diamond would seem the best option given the squad, but with that dinosaur in charge it will most likely end up being something he saw working once back in 1976.

Too many attackers. No way does he need Rooney, Sturridge, Vardy, Kane and Rashford. Along with attacking midfielders.

Looks like Rooney will be in midfield. Where he's not good enough or disciplined for international.

Yup, Wilshere IF he manages to stay fit is not cut out for the deep lying midfield position

Delph, Drinkwater and Townsend left out.

Leaves the defensive midfielder position ****ed if Dier gets injured or has to play centreback.

I know they like Wilshere there but players run past him for fun.

I think he'll bin Delph and Townsend definitely.

Got an inkling number three will be Hendo.
