Don't think there's out wrong with what Roy has said to be honest - he's right to questions Brendan's methods too...I mean at least Roy's team can keep a clean sheet!

Roy Hodgson is an uneducated dinosaur, says Raymond Verheijen on the Raheem Sterling club vs country row

Roy Hodgson has been branded incompetent as the fallout from his comments over Raheem Sterling’s fitness continues.

Liverpool are not being drawn into a tit-for-tat exchange with Hodgson but Raymond Verheijen, the Dutch fitness coach who has worked closely with Guus Hiddink, waded into the furore with a withering condemnation of Hodgson’s approach

Verheijen, who has been outspoken against English clubs in the past, leapt to the defence of Rodgers’ handling of Sterling and Daniel Sturridge, after Hodgson had claimed there was nothing to support Liverpool’s preference of giving some of their players two recovery days.

‘Another shocking example of why English managers are becoming extinct is Hodgson,’ said Verheijen.

‘His incompetence must be frustrating for educated managers like Rodgers who travelled the world.

‘According to Hodgson, there is no evidence that certain players (Sterling/Sturridge) need longer recovery time compared to other players. Firstly, 19-year-old players do not have a fully matured body yet. So for them the game demands are higher and will develop much more fatigue.

‘Secondly, Sterling is not only a young but also an explosive player. They have many fast muscle fibres compared to less explosive players. Young players who develop more fatigue during the game need longer time to get rid of this fatigue otherwise they accumulate fatigue in body.

‘If explosive players do not get extra recovery time and are treated in the same way as other players, they accumulate fatigue. Thirdly accumulation of fatigue due to insufficient recovery makes the nervous system slower. That is why players like Sterling need longer to recover.’

Great to see people that know about such things, and neutrals in the debate too, ripping the bodge to bits!

His 1 substitute appearance all season must have really impressed Roy. He'll be nearly 35 when France 2016 kicks off and he's **** now anyway, whats the point?!

Id be pissed off if I was an Arsenal fan. Walcott has played all of 1 game? Why is Carrick there? To keep him fit for Utd?

Also, Lambert? He has been a bit **** for us, not scored a goal. But is getting in the squad ahead of someone who might actually be worthy of the place at the moment.

Good to see Berahino get a call up. It's obviously scatter gun with Roy but he does include lower profile players who are in form. He also picks higher profile players who are ****e, but still.
