I think David Bernstein has a secret crush on Roy. Same speech impediment. 'FIFA wanking' when referring to Switzerland's third place ranking.

Not many have the experience that Roy Hodgson, proved he is a top manager at international level so don't see no reason why he can't do it

For England....good choice in my opinion! Good luck and I hope I can help him in some way in the future! #3Lions #England

mate lets face it any new england manager has been given a bye at the euros. if we do alright then he'll be a genius and if as expected we totally bomb then he's only been doing it for six weeks.

really is a no lose situation.

for the first 6 weeks then we'll see what happens after. would love to see a red top put that owl on roys head after a heavy and generally hapless defeat.

That press conference was brilliant....loved the question about him playing in South Africa during apartheid #ruffled

Good read from a liverpool fan's perspective:

Look on the bright side, now all the England fans will have to put up with what we had to.
It's a prediction thread on a wish list.

He has "taken over someone else's team at a late stage" before the euros.

He is getting his excuses in early.

Stinks of jobs for mates and shows the FA for the joke that they are. "international experience" hahaha give me a ****ing break!!!

i can only think the fa were concerned about skeletons in Arrys closet that are yet to be discovered

removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

What organisation would only interview one person? The FA, that's who.

They should've drawn up a shortlist of three/four candidates and requested interviews with an appointment made late April.

I've only just seen footage of the press conference now, i heard the audio via radio but just seeing his face there, he's like a rabbit in the headlights, looks somewhat bewildered and stunned by the whole thing, as if he hasnt quite got his head around what's happened.
