I grew up in the 70s where England,for one reason or another, just couldn't get their **** together in qualifying tournaments. However since the 1980 Euros, in Italy I think,we've headed off to every major tournament we've qualified for harboring the belief we were gonna have a really good chance of going all the way. Can someone explain to me why, now the Bodge is at the helm, these expectations are no longer there and talk of an all out assault on a major prize are actually being played down by press and media alike? I've read three reports - Guardian, BBC and Independent and none of them seem to be cheering Bodge. For instance, the headline in the Independent:
