Count 'all' the stories and media opinion, and you'll see i'm correct.

I'm not really talking about the opinion on the performance, but the excuses being made for Bodge.

Sky have gone with the 'England beat Norway for the first time in 32 years' line.

Like we've played Norway in each of the last 32 years and lost.

Was also interesting to see ITV not being so xenophobic, but I think the general consensus is that we dribbed and drabbed our way to a win.

I don't need to count them, I'll take your word for it. I was simply indicating it's not unanimous, even at this early stage, when you might expect it.

And people I know - non-LFC fans - who watched it were scathing. Not even Bronto and his media courtiers can fool all of the people all of the time. The general population don't rate him - they just don't hate him yet.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Yep, we have played them only 5 times in those 32 years. For the record.

9th Sept 1981, lost 2-1 in a WC play off
14th Oct 1992, drew 1-1 in a WC play off (home)
            2 June 1993 , lost 2-0 in a WC play off
            22nd May 1994 drew 0-0 in a friendly (home)
            11th Oct 1995, drew 0-0 in a friendly

Having read the BBC page I see things could be a lot worse. You could be Scottish who just got utterly bummed in the States.

Had SSN on briefly this morning and they were discussing the headlines and Hodgson. Basically they talking about Hodgson’s comments about how he’s not that worried about the Euro’s, how he’s got his eye on the world cup and they were lauding him for lowering expectations and taking the pressure off the players. “Cunning”, “masterstroke”, “wily” were some of the words used to describe him. How the **** does he get away with it and how can fool so many seemingly educated people?

Does anyone have the full quote before our first ever friendly when he said something about being happy if we didn’t get stuff by so many goals?
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I think he gets away with it because many of the people he is fooling are thick, and not as educated as you [too kindly] give them credit for

I caught some of this whilst getting ready for work this morning, unbelievable the spin they put on that - if Cappello had come out with similar it would have been attacked from all angles, as it's Roy it's a ****ing masterstroke.

Old boys club with certain managers and the press in this country, complete joke really.

am fairly sure at the beginning of the match that the ballbag adrian chiles said now we have a manager who knows what he is doing.

Yup, they were giving it the old guff about him being a master organiser and tactition on the radio this morning.

I feel we're going to have to put up with a lot of this over the summer.

capello did an awful job at the last world cup but he overall record with England speaks for itself.

also to imply that capello doesnt know what he is doing after the success at the highest level is stupid.
