Yeah, if Hodgson would have said it would have caused unrest in the camp it would have probably gone down better.
To flat out lie and say its because of footballing reasons just makes him look a bit of a cunt.
it would have gone down like a **** sandwich. Every dial a comment would have been crying foul and screaming 'racism'.
In a way its a bit unfortunate for Hodgson. He was absolutely right not to go begging to cunts who've already ruled themselves out but that has given this decision a lot more focus.
What is really ****ing galling is that after the world cup, every hack in the country was saying England need to start afresh. The golden generation had blown its chance and the future should be handed to talented youth. Now England have gone only slightly down that road, they appear to have lost their bottle and change their minds. Bunch of dicks.

. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
Its ****ing awful that there are so many Liverpool players in the squad.
For England to fail miserably and Roy to be shown it means Liverpool players may have a large part in that. Liverpool players do well and it will help England and give Roy an air of credibility.

"Could this be a kind of revenge for Roy. If as expected England fail miserably the country will naturally blame the 6 Liverpool players who played so badly for Hodgson at Liverpool that got him sacked after 6 months"
Except half of them weren't at Liverpool at the time. Shame that Ashley Cole's recovery from that early knock blocked a well merited call-up for PFK.
I listened to it on 5Live and, given it's still a honeymoon period for Hodgson and that the BBC is not among the first to slag off England managers, I was surprised by how much criticism there was of the tactics. Graham Taylor and Chris Waddle were scathing throughout about how Hodgson set up the team in a rigid 442 and that England would be ripped apart by better teams.
I wish he had all his first choice players available. Then he'd have no excuses.

It's an evolved mechanism whereby the brain blocks out memories that are harmful to the individual's ability or, in this case, desire to survive.
