                  Couldn't have worked out any better this for Bodgson. He didn't like those positive stories and rising expectations after qualifying. A couple of piss poor friendly defeats will make him feel all warm and fuzzy again.

                    I'm not sure what you mean by piss poor. England have played pretty well in this one and more than held their own.

                            England first team vs the German shadow team at Wembley? Lots of huff and puff but no cutting edge. Better than Chile but just turning up matched the effort of Friday.

                              I think that's a pretty negative assessment of this game tbh.

                              And they're friendlies so the results aren't exactly important. This German side are capable of beating better teams than England.
